“The image of truth is Christ,
Wisdom’s message its rod;
Sign of truth is the cross,
Soul of truth is God.”
『真實』的肖像是基督，
智慧的信息是它的手杖；
『真實』的象徵是十字架，
而『真實』的靈魂是神。
這短短四句文字，節錄自 Hazrat Inayat Khan (HIK) 的 “Truth” 。在思索今天要跟大家分享些什麼的時候，我想，耶誕節將近，HIK 有沒有提過關於基督的什麼呢？搜索 HIK 的文章時，看到這首詩，他說「『真實』的肖像是基督」，於是決定來與大家分享這個。
踏上「心之道」(The path of the Heart) 這條內在旅程的你我，其實都是「真理的探尋者」(The Seeker of Truth)。我們都感覺在「我」這個小小的個人之外，好像有些什麼……但，那又是什麼呢？
HIK 說，「欲探尋真理之人，所需學習的第一課，就是他必須要對自己真實。」 (“The first lesson that the seeker after truth must learn is to be true to himself. ”)
Truth 好像無所不在，但又無法被言述。HIK 說了一個故事來比喻那些「找到Truth 的靈魂」，在一個國家有一堵圍牆，這圍牆立在那兒好久好久了，很多人嘗試爬上去，但只有少數人成功。那些成功爬上牆頂、看見「另一邊」的人，都發出了微笑，並越過了牆、不再回來。人們越來越好奇「另一邊」到底是什麼，到底有什麼秘密。於是他們高額懸賞一個可以爬上牆頂、但身上拴著繩子讓他們拉回地面的勇士。當這位勇士爬上牆頂，他也發出了微笑，並試著要翻牆，但被人們拉回了地面。人們問：「你在那裡看到了什麼？」勇士不說話，只是微笑。
這就是 Truth 的探尋者，當他在他心中的聖殿遇見神，而已經知道 Truth 時，他只能微笑，因為語言無法描述出 Truth 到底是什麼。
